Monday Made It, a Winner & a Freebie

I was excited when I checked 4th Grade Frolics and found that Monday Made It was back.

 Here is a sample of my newest product that I have in the works.  Our corporation wants primary teachers to display numbers & number words, ten frames, number bonds & the "story" of numbers.  I wanted to  make something cute that wouldn't take up a ton of space.  Look for it in my TpT store in a couple of days.

Monday Made It!

Last week I kinda cheated on my Monday Made It post - I posted photos of things I didn't make...  Well, this week, I actually have two things to write about that I did make.

I made this christening gown last fall for Olivia's baptism.  She was too small to wear the family gown that my mother made back in the 1970s (Isabella wore that one.)  Depending upon when Amelia is baptized, I may need to make an even smaller gown.

Here's a close-up of the lace.

I entered the gown in our county fair, and happily won a first place ribbon!  (And, $5.00.  Woo Hoo!)

I always take a first day of kindergarten picture of my kiddos.  It is so much fun to see how they change and grow throughout the year.  BP (before Pinterest) I simply took pictures of the Kinders standing in front of a bulletin board.  Well, now that it's AP (after Pinterest) I decided that I needed something much cuter for that first snapshot!  Here's what the little darlings will hold while I photograph them on their first day of school.

One last picture...  Here's Papa holding his newest little granddaughter.  She looks extra teeny in his big arms!

Monday, Monday: Linkies & more

The shower Gabrielle and I went to had the cutest centerpieces made from old china glued together to make a little cookie stand.  I researched them on Etsy (picture above) and found that they could be pretty pricey.  Now, I am certainly NOT trying to discourage anyone from purchasing items from Etsy, but I like to make things myself.  I popped into Goodwill and found these random pieces of china for about $12.00.

 A little silicone glue later, and viola!  I now have a cake stand and a cookie stand!  (I guess a tea party should be in my near future!)

My daughter, Sarah, and I recently got together to work on some anchor charts.  Her's is on the left, and mine is on the right. It was fun:  We pinned a bunch of ideas (counts as professional development, right?) and then came together with ipads, chart paper, and markers.  We plan to make some more before summer is over. 

 Occasionally, I am inspired to cook...  Because I was hosting a 31 party (I'll post my goodies from the party soon), I needed some tasty snacks.  Once again I turned to Pinterest for inspiration- geeze, however would we live without Pinterest??  Follow me on Pinterest for these recipes.

Monday Made It

Why have I not joined this fun linky party before?!?  I love to make things!


Last Friday two of my daughters, Sarah & Gabrielle (Emily had to work), went with a friend to a painting class.  Taking a painting class was on my bucket list.  It was so much fun that I don't want to mark it as "did it" - I want to take another class!

 The background is complete!  Ready for the flowers!

My finished picture.  It may not be art gallery quality, but it looks nice in my powder room!
